“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
A wise man once said, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade”.
Though I always want to make lemonade out of those lemons, sometimes they cause me to be fearful, have anxiety or question God. Most recently, most of us have been given some of the biggest lemons of our lives. Whether that is moving home from college, having to miss out on events, or being out of work, we are all going through something right now. For me personally, being forced to move back across the country back in with my family, and completely miss out on a semester of college has given me anxiety and caused fear for the future. The fear of not having control over my own life is one of my greatest, and that fear is overwhelming right now. Isaiah 41:10 tells us “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This verse is my reminder that it is ok to allow God to take control of my life because he will give me strength to get through the uncertain and fearful times. In the end he will give all of us the strength to make the lemonade.
